5. photovoltaic system - ready!
Our fifth and, with 152.1 kWp, largest photovoltaic system to date was completed in June 2012. HoKa GmbH now has a total of five independent photovoltaic systems on its industrial halls with a total output of 560 kWp, which produce 504,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on the sunshine. An important step towards saving fossil fuels. To illustrate it better: Our photovoltaic systems can save 50,000 liters of gasoline or diesel per year,
- or 126,000 kg of firewood
- or 65,500 kg of hard coal
- or 66,500 m³ of natural gas.
As a plastics processing company, we know that crude oil is far too valuable to be used to generate electricity, heat or kinetic energy. The remaining petroleum resources should be used to produce plastics, because they are 100% recyclable and can be converted into new products again and again. In contrast, electricity, heat or kinetic energy generated once from petroleum is lost energy.
We currently generate more electricity per year than we consume. Nevertheless, we hope that we are far from finished with the fifth photovoltaic system.
